Tiling Visible Windows

To "tile" visible windows (e.g. windows that are not minimized), press the F9+Shift key combination. For Spatial or Grid layouts the windows will be scaled down and arranged so that they do not overlap:

Press F9+Shift to tile all windows.

When Flip layout is enabled, pressing F9+Shift will display the windows in a 3D list, with the topmost window at the front.

Press F9 to tile all windows.

The blue-tinted window in the image is the "currently selected" window, the window that will be brought to the front when all windows are untiled. The currently selected window can be changed using the mouse or keyboard.

To select a window, move the mouse pointer over it or use the Arrow keys. Alternatively, you can cycle through windows by scrolling the mouse wheel or by pressing the Tab and Shift+Tab keys or the Win+Tab and Win+Shift+Tab keys. Once a window has been selected, you can switch to it by clicking the Left Mouse Button. Alternatively, pressing Space, Enter, or F9+Shift will also switch to the currently selected window. If, once tiled, you change your mind about switching to another window, press Escape to cancel window selection.

TopDesk can be configured to use a hot key combination other than F9+Shift or a mouse hotspot to tile visible windows. For more information, visit the configuration help page.

To drag-and-drop a file on a window using TopDesk, click and drag the file, tile all windows, then, still holding the Left Mouse Button, move the mouse over the window tile you want to drop the file on to and hold it over the window tile until the window tile is selected and all windows untile. Finally, let go of the Left Mouse Button over the untiled window to drop the file. When Flip layout is enabled, drag-and-drop only works on the frontmost window.

Windows can also be closed and minimized/restored while tiled. To close a window, select it and press the X key. To minimize/restore a window, select it and press the M key; if the window is currently minimized it will be restored, otherwise it will be minimized. When Flip layout is used, closing and minimizing/restoring only works on the frontmost window.
