Configuring NetSet

Network Profiles

NetSet stores networks settings as Network Profiles. A network profile describes the network adapter to use, the IP address and DNS server address settings the network adapter will use, a hot key that can be used to activate the network profile, and the icon that will be displayed next to the network profile in the Network Profile List.

Launching the Options Dialog

To display the Options dialog, Right-Click on the NetSet icon in the taskbar notification area and select the Options... menu item. The options dialog contains two tabs, the Profiles tab and the Display tab.

Profiles Tab

The Profiles Tab lets you add, remove, and edit Network Profiles. Network Profiles can be activated using Hot Keys, the Network Profile List, or by Right-Clicking on the NetSet icon in the taskbar notification area

Adding and Editing Network Profiles

Network profiles can be added or editing using the Add Profile... and Edit Profile... buttons in the Options Dialog. The Add Profile and Edit Profile dialogs have two tabs, the General Tab, and the Network Tab.

General Tab

The General Tab lets you choose the Network Profile name, the hot key used to activate the Network Profile, and icon that will be displayed next to the profile in the Network Profile List.

Network Tab

The Network Tab lets you choose the network adapter to use, and the IP address and DNS server addres settings for that network adapter. To set the IP address and DNS server address settings to network adapters current settings, click the Use Current Network Adapter Settings button.

Internet Explorer Tab

The Internet Explorer Tab lets you choose the Internet Explorer home page and Local Area Network (LAN) automatic configuration and proxy server settings. To set the Internet Explorer settings to the current Internet Explorer settings, click the Use Current Internet Explorer Settings button.

Printer Tab

The Printer Tab lets you change the default printer.

Shell Tab

The Shell Tab lets you execute a shell command when the network profile is activated.

Display Tab

The Display Tab lets you specify the on-screen position of the various NetSet windows and the hot keys used to display the Network Profile List and Network Adapter Information windows.
